Liafe is a Mystery

Recently at a youth conference I met this Japanese gal. She is my age and quite a sweet gal.
I do speak abit japanese and I always take the chance to try to practice with a native Japanese speaker. So I was talking about Naruto (the coolest Manga besides hunter x hunter) and asked if she liked it.

She answered in english " I am Married"
Trying not to be shocked, I carried on the conversation asking, "so where is your husband, can I meet him?"

That is just so weird.

I told my friend and he said " I should just reply something out of the blues like ‘ I dont play golf’ "
Maybe next time.
